East To West Amy & Toby’s Story

Amy was 16 when her tutor at school noticed that she had become reserved, withdrawn and tearful.  The east to west RSW spent some time with Amy and she told her that she had found out she was pregnant, just before she began revising for her exams.  Many tears later, with the help of Options Pregnancy Crisis Clinic (arranged by the RSW) she decided to keep the baby and Toby was born later in the year.  Amy is proving to be a great Mum and she achieved 7A-C grades in her GCSEs.

Our team at east to west believe that there is Hope in every and any challenging situation a child, young person, family or school staff may be facing.

At the heart of east to west is Relational Support Work which we define as ‘a long term commitment to actively journey with children, young people and families through the issues they are addressing for as long as it takes’.  This approach is woven through all our work and projects.

Founded in 1996, based in Egham and working across the northern boroughs of Surrey and the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead; east to west supported 1438 children, young people, and families last academic school year.

Thank you Christ Church for your support

The simple fact is that this last academic year we could not have supported the 1,438 children, young people and families without the support of Christ Church Virginia Water and other local churches in the area. We are so grateful for their prayers, the group of fantastic people who have volunteered in schools, for giving us a room each month so that we can deliverer training for our team and have been hosts in our Supported Lodgings project that ran for 9 years. We are also grateful for the financial support that both the church and individuals from the church have given. We would like to give a special mention to the many years of support that Rev. Stephen Sizer has given during his time as Vicar and ask for God’s blessing in Stephen’s next chapter as he moves from the Church.

If you would like to talk to us about supporting our work in some way, please do not hesitate to ring or email me at anthony@easttowest.org.uk or call on 01784 438007.

Many thanks
